I’m starting to think that I might use this domain to it’s full potential. By that I mean actually teaching people how to code for the Wii. I’m no genius but what I’m hoping to do is have some small simple tutorials. Tutorials may include how to include the Wiimote, how to do simple move over and button clicking detection, how to read images from the SD card, how to play sound, basically all the stuff that we take for granted.
It’s an idea… what are your thoughts?

Just a quick post, does anyone actually use the IR cursor correction while in the Homebrew Browser? The reason I ask is because it might be better to assign the Dpad left and right to be able to control the categories.

Just some small additions to the Homebrew Browser.
You’re now able to cancel downloads by pressing B. After pressing B it will stop the download and then delete all the files that have been downloaded. I’ve put in a slight rumble when hovering over buttons with the cursor. I didn’t want to it rumble too much as the buttons are quite small. The help and controls icons have been moved to the left of the banner so that users with 16:9 TVs should now hopefully be able to see them.
I was going to add some controller images to the HBB so that for each application it would tell you which controller is required but there was too many controllers to fit on the “channel” so I’ve left this for when I remove the about text and replace it with an about window.

PiesAreBlueGuy and Felix have suggested a great idea, being notified via the Wii message board when an update or new applications for the HBB are available. I’ve gone ahead and set up an email address which is hbb@codemii.com.
From your Wii, all you need to do is add that email address to your address book and then I will reply with a confirmation email. You’ll then be signed up to receive messages when there are new HBB updates and new or updated applications are available.

I’m currently thinking about what things need to be added to the HBB. I’ll be moving the little icons from the bottom left to the left of the banner and hopefully try to make the about text a bit bigger. I might add a simple loop so that you’re able to cancel a download in progress by pressing say the B button. Another thing to add is possibly rumble when you’ve moved the cursor over the little icons and the buttons.
It’s just all small things for now.
If you haven’t already checked out the links section of this blog, you’ll find a really simple page that will show you the most downloaded applications from the Homebrew Browser.
