6 September 2008 (v0.2.2)
- Now downloads images in real time, no more having to wait for HBB to load all the images
- Fixed IR cursor, no more IR cursor correction is required (thanks Wil)
- Deleting applications now deletes all files from the directories created (emulator roms/saves directories aren’t deleted)
- Dpad left and right now controls the categories
- Updated HBB about image to include information about wii message notifications for HBB
Download HBB v0.2.2 or run HBB on your Wii to update
This update should make loading the Homebrew Browser a better experience as you’ll no longer have to wait for it to download all the images when first run. The IR cursor being fixed should also make things a bit better as well.
The fix for the IR cursor was quite simple. I was using ir.sx and sy before as I thought that it would have been better as these co-ordinates are smoothed but it turns out that using ir.x and y work just as well and I believe have fixed the IR cursor correction problem.
The Homebrew is a great App. Please keep up the marvellous work! Cheers from Germany.
Thanks very much for your efforts 🙂

Hey guys,
I was wondering if the homebrew browser supported getting its stuff from a mirror.
I have a fiber connection at home but notice that the wii brew downloads take extremely long.
I was wondering if I could mirror that to one of my servers and get HBB to download it from that server.
The issue with the slow speed relates to libfat. Currently this libfat library can’t write to the SD card faster than 120 KB/s or so. This is the reason why downloading seems slow.
I can’t get the newest to connect to the network server it might be down (shrug)
The homebrew channel says I’m connected but when I try to run the browser it says can’t initialize
I can’t seem to update from my Wii. It generates a bunch of code, then states CODE DUMP.
It did this occasionally before but now I cant update or even run the homebrew browser.
Any advice?
Do you have free space on your SD card or have the write lock switch on? Have you tried formatting your SD card?
Yes I have a 2 Gig SD card so there is ample space available.
I will try to reformat and see if that makes a difference.
Thanks.
Hi
i have a problem with homebrew browser.
after attempting to connect server i get the massage:
“read error -115 occurred, retrying”
“attempting to connect server”
“error creating socket, exiting”
and i am kicked back into hbc.
does anybody has an idea what the problem is.
curiously nearly no hb which uses the wifi-inferface works properly. i tried patchmii, cios installer, ftpii, and others.
ftpii prints out an error and after i did some research it seams it quits with the -115-issue too.
thx a lot for your feedback and please excuse my bad english.
simon
i think i found a solution. i switched my wifi to channel 11 and everything works fine. seems to be rather a wii hw issue than a hb problem.
I get once the following application has started and then it gives a code dump.
Debug Code: fwrite error: [1]
Just to resolve any issues I formatted my SD (FAT16) card and put just the HBB on it. I still get the same error but now it drop me back to the Hombrew Channel instead of crashing. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Sorry that code was- DEBUG: fwrite error: [1] Not owner
turns out the write protect switch was loose and so the motion of putting the card in would protect it and pulling it out would unprotect it so it looked fine. a little superglue later and all is working. thanks for the great app!
Hey, what does this mean?
“# Updated HBB about image to include information about wii message notifications for HBB”
Did you add wii message notifications for new homebrew? That would be pretty cool.
It means exactly what you’ve said. You can add hbb@codemii.com as a contact in your Wii and you will receive notifications by email when the applications in HBB are updated.
